Gerald Dolan, Jr. is the Director of Fine Arts for the Ipswich Public Schools.  He recently retired as Director of Bands having conducted the high school Concert Band, Pep Band and Jazz Ensemble.  Mr. Dolan has studied conducting with Malcolm Rowell and Frank Battisti.  He holds degrees from St. Michael's College and the University of Massachusetts at Amherst.   Currently the Music Director of the Northeast Massachusetts Youth Orchestras (NMYO), Gerry is Conductor of the NMYO Intermezzo Orchestra. He teachers Instrumental Conducting and Music Education at Gordon College in the Graduate Summer Degree Program.  Mr. Dolan served as a conductor of the United States Youth Wind Ensemble during its 2001 summer tour. He has also served as Assistant Conductor of the Metropolitan Wind Symphony, the University of Massachusetts at Lowell Youth Wind Ensemble, and Music Director of the Ipswich Community Band and Jazz Ensemble.   Mr Dolan received the 2003 Olmstead Award for excellence in secondary school teaching from Williams College and was honored by the Massachusetts Music Educators' Association 2002 Lowell Mason Award.   As a 1993 Fulbright Scholarship recipient, he served as Head of Music at the Speedweel School, in Bristol, England.  Mr. Dolan received the 2015 Paul Smith Hall of Fame Award from the Massachusetts Instrumental and Choral Conductors Association.  Mr. Dolan has also been elected into the Boston Crusaders Drum and Bugle Corps Hall of Fame.

On Monday November 13 over 150 students from 16 ASBDA member schools participated in the 24th Annual CT Honor Band Festival hosted at Maloney High School, Meriden, Conn. The Wind Ensemble was conducted by Gerald Dolan, Jr.the Director of Fine Arts for the Ipswich Public Schools in Massachusetts. The Symphonic Band was conducted by Micahel Breaux from New York University. Thank you to everyone that made the festival a huge success and a special thank you to Brian Cyr and everyone at Maloney High School for hosting the 2017 Honor Band Festival.

Michael L. Breaux holds degrees in music education (BME, Louisiana State University) and music performance (MM, Yale). In addition, he holds a professional diploma in educational leadership.  He is currently completing his Ed.D. music education at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, where his dissertation research focuses on both the cognitive strategies used and the eye movements used in scanning music for important information during sight-reading.  
Mr. Breaux has taught for more than thirty years as a public school music educator and college instructor specializing in wind-bands, jazz ensembles, marching band, chamber music, and teacher preparation.  He has been actively involved in the Connecticut Music Educators Association as ensemble chairperson and adjudicator for district, state, and regionals festivals. On the university level, he has taught at  Western Connecticut State University and the University of Illinois, where he taught conducting and supervised student teachers, and New York University.  At NYU, he founded both the Concert Band and the Music Education Jazz Ensembles.  As an active professional musician, Mr. Breaux has performed as principal bassoon and soloist (bassoon and saxophone) with the Baton Rouge Symphony, New Haven Symphony, Wallingford Symphony, Orchestra New England, and numerous ensembles throughout the Tri-State areas.  He has also performed as a doubling woodwind musician in jazz ensembles and theatre orchestras.  As a studio musician, he has made numerous recordings, including the movie soundtrack albums Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind and Magnolia.  He also performed on the Fiona Apple Album When the Pawn, and Aimee Mann's album Whatever
